Containers for safe storage of flammable liquids (IGO)
The customer
IGO is a service-providing intermunicipal association, operating in the district of Leuven. Its 250 employees work daily for, among others, the green services of various municipalities.
Purpose
All products used by IGO's green services for maintenance (e.g. oil, acetone, paint) and the necessary fuel (motomix = petrol mixture) for the garden machinery are flammable. By law, these flammable liquids must be stored in a fireproof compartment if the storage area can be less than 10 m from the buildings and/or 5 m from the plot boundary (Article ARAB 52.2).
Problem-solution
- CGK provided 2 fireproof containers to store the flammable substances.
- The small container (pictured left) serves to store the filled jerry cans that employees collect when they need to work on site.
- The large container (pictured right) is the storage area for all flammable maintenance products and necessary fuels.
- IGO is currently switching more and more to battery-powered garden tools and machines. For this, they also called on our knowledge of safe storage.Read the case on lithium battery storage at IGO here..
