Storage and process tanks

For cylindrical plastic tanks, there are two groups: on the one hand, storage tanks for storing liquids, and on the other hand, process tanks used for mixing, diluting, dosing, settling, etc., of liquids.

Types of Tanks

The right tank depends on the legislation and its setup.

Storage Tanks

A tank that stores but does not process liquids: the storage tank. According to the Vlarem II legislation, these tanks are considered fixed containers and have a corresponding set of requirements. Fixed containers are filled or refilled at the place of use, while their liquid is stored for more than 24 hours.

Process Tanks, Day Tanks, and Buffer Tanks

In these tanks, products are processed, such as mixing liquids. Moreover, the Vlarem II legislation does not apply here: chemicals remain in these tanks for less than 24 hours. Therefore, process tanks do not require a double wall or containment.
