Safe storage of drone batteries (SABCA)

The Brussels branch of SABCA, active in the aviation industry.
Purpose
Sabca chooses CGK solutions for storing its batteries so that operations can be conducted in the safest conditions.
Problem-solution
To safely store the batteries of SABCA' s drones, CGK installed 2 storage cabinets.
- The cabinets are equipped with a positive pressure hatch to contain any explosion. The hatch contains a filter mat that keeps out splashing lithium particles. There is also a drain on the hatch to discharge gas.
- In case of fire, the built-in lithium extinguisher disperses an extinguishing powder into the cabinet and through all the shelves.
- The cabinets serve only as storage space for batteries. Specialized charging cabinets with built-in charging points exist for charging lithium batteries.
- To make the cabinets easy to move, they are on a stainless steel base.
