Fire-resistant container for flammable inks (ORBO)

The customer

Kortemark-based ORBO is an innovative printing company of flexible packaging.

Purpose

ORBO works with flammable inks for the production of their packaging. These were stored in 2 IBCs, but as the IBCs are against the building, they have to be placed in a fireproof unit according to the applicable standard.

Problem-solution

To store the flammable inks, CGK provided a fireproof container for the IBCs. This allows operators to safely drain the ink from the bottom of the IBC.
The fireproof container was prepared in our workshop and delivered and assembled on site by CGK.
For smooth operation at ORBO, the container's doors are open as standard. When the fuse detects too high a temperature (from 50°C onwards), the doors close automatically.
The entire installation complies with article 52.2 ARAB (highly flammable substances 1998).
