Dosing System on Skid (Biotalys)

Logo biotalys

The customer

Biotalys is an AgTech company that protects crops and food using its proprietary protein-based biopesticides, aiming for a more sustainable and safer food supply.

Purpose

Automatic Neutralization of Contaminated Water for Reduced Waste, Increased Efficiency, and Enhanced Safety.

Problem-solution

During the production process, condensate water containing mold spores is released and cannot be discharged into the sewer. Previously, an operator manually added a neutralizing substance, which was time-consuming, less safe, and sometimes wasteful due to inconsistent dosing.

The customer wanted to automate this process and had already envisioned a concept. Our CGK team provided expert advice and handled the 3D design, full system development, assembly, transport, and commissioning.

For this project, we opted for a skid-mounted installation, where all components (tanks, pumps, piping, automation, etc.) are pre-installed on a single frame.

Why a skid system?
Faster installation than assembling separate components on-site
Cost-efficient, reducing transport and installation time
Pre-assembled in our workshop, minimizing on-site work and travel

For the electrical integration, we collaborated with our trusted partner.

System Components & Features

On the skid frame, we installed:

  • Two 100L Astro tanks for wastewater collection
  • An automatic pump for mixing the neutralizing agent
  • A pneumatic pump to discharge neutralized (non-hazardous) wastewater into the sewer
  • A sensor system for real-time monitoring of the neutralizing agent levels
  • Leak detection with a drip tray beneath the entire system
  • A stand-alone PLC system controlling the entire process flow
    • Fully automated operation via touchscreen & Manual operation available for maintenance tasks
    • Data Logging & Alarm System
      Complete process monitoring
Configurable alarm lists for error detection

Result: A Fully Autonomous & Compact Solution
