Fireproof containers for start-ups (WUR - Wageningen)

Purpose

Wageningen University offers PhDs and recent graduates the chance to start a startup. They provide various support, including facilities such as workplaces and offices. From this service came a request for two fireproof containers to be placed along the building's frontage.

Problem-solution

The containers had to comply with 60 minutes of fire resistance in accordance with PGS15 (Dutch legislation). Not because they store hazardous substances, but because these safety requirements provide high protection against fire spread in the event of a fire.

Together with the user, we discussed what facilities were needed in the container. The container is equipped with LED lighting, heating, electricity, shelving and fireproof penetrations.

The university had both units wrapped in the department's corporate colours.
