Renewal of dosing plant (Aquaduin).
The customer
Aquaduin is a drinking water producer for the Koksijde region.
Purpose
Reliable and flexible dosing of antiscalant and sodium bisulfite, without interrupting production.
Problem-solution
At Aquaduin (Torreele site), effluent water is converted into infiltration water via reverse osmosis. Accurate and reliable dosing of chemicals is crucial in this process:
- Antiscalant prevents limescale deposits on the RO membranes
- Sodium bisulfite neutralizes free chlorine before the water reaches the membranes
The existing dosing installation was outdated. Aquaduin wanted to switch to a future-proof installation that could dose two products in parallel while increasing operational reliability and safety.
The solution
We opted for a phased approach to avoid plant downtime. First, we built the new plant from scratch, then the old one was decommissioned and removed.
Our scope:
- Complete renovation from suction to injection point
- New pump cabinets with integrated instrumentation: pumps, pulsation dampers, flow switch, overflow and pressure relief valves.
- Double-walled flexible pipes for extra safety and visual leak detection
- Welded stainless steel line up to the injection point
- All preparations were carried out in our shop, with minimal installation time on site
