How do I choose the right piping?
Piping or piping systems are used to transport (hazardous) liquids internally. Laying a new pipeline or making an adjustment to existing piping does require some expertise.
Was the selection of long-term materials adequate? Is the material suitable for this concentration, pressure and temperature? Is the welding method suitable for this product? Are the fittings and valves ideal for your set-up? Are we using the right pumps? Are the pumps sized correctly? Has the pipe diameter been calculated for the required flow rate or ideal fluid velocity? Often the cheapest solution is chosen in the short term, but what are the long-term costs? All these factors have a significant impact both economically and environmentally.
At CGK Group, we are specialists in piping.
From utility piping to food to the last drop of chemistry in your production process. We have all the expertise to guide you from A to Z. Cooling water, steam, gas, thermal oil, chocolate piping, dairy, sulphuric acid, caustic soda, nitric acid... You name it, we can do it.
We think along with the customer and on the basis of a comprehensive analysis, we make the right choice for you.
Piping material
As indicated earlier, selecting the right materials is very important in piping. This choice can make a difference of more than 10 years in lifespan. Do you opt for carbonsteel, stainless steel or go in the direction of plastic? We work with a wide range of materials, each with their typical properties and advantages. We choose the most suitable material depending on your application.
For material selection, we take into account temperature, pressure resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, abrasion resistance, food suitability, electrostatic charge or fire resistance, among other factors, and of course your budget. Once we know what is important to the customer, we tailor the material accordingly.
Pipework support
Support distances of piping are calculated according to the type of pipe, the density of your product and any other additional factors. Besides this, it is important to look at the possibilities on site. What can be supported? Concrete, profiles, ytong, sandwich panels, sheet piling, ... this can have a major impact on the final price.
Are the options for supporting limited? In that case, a metal pipe is sometimes more interesting from a budgetary point of view, as plastic pipes can incur additional costs. Of course, this is a calculation exercise that we do for you, depending on your budget. Our aim is to offer you the best price-quality option
One of the strengths at CGK-Group is that we have the various departments in-house to bring your project to completion without delay. Is there a lack of basic support for the installation of your pipework? Then we can quickly step in with our construction department so as not to compromise the pipefitters' planning.
Does the pipework need to be insulated afterwards? We have an entire insulation department that can fit your pipework with insulation.
Piping insulation
We also do all the pipework insulation ourselves.
Our pipefitters and insulators work in perfect harmony, ensuring the planning process proceeds seamlessly. Thanks to years of cooperation, our pipe fitters also know perfectly how to place the pipes so that the insulation can be done smoothly afterwards.
Depending on your application, the pipes must be kept frost-free or must achieve or maintain a desired production temperature. Is standard insulation not enough for this? Then you can opt for tracing or heating around the pipe. We can equip the tracing with an adjustable thermostat or an ordinary frost control that works up to 5°C.
As with the piping, we also have several options for the insulation depending on your application and budget. Insulation can be provided in stainless steel, aluminium, smooth plastic or even vulcanised waterproof insulation that can be used under water. The possibilities are endless.
The right standards for your piping
Get advice on standards. We often receive applications with standards that are dated or irrelevant to the application. There are a huge number of standards in circulation which can cause confusion. At CGK Group, we are familiar with current, correct standards according to your requirements.
