Piping in stainless steel and HDPE for expansion of demineralized water production (water-link)

Water Link

The customer

Water-link provides customized process water solutions for industrial companies, focusing on water production, reuse and treatment.

Purpose

Due to the increasing demand for demiwater (demineralized water), the production capacity at water-link was expanded with two mobile RO units. Due to space constraints, flexible container solutions were chosen. This required adjustments to the existing infrastructure with a focus on piping.

Problem-solution

Our assignment? To design, install, and integrate new piping to connect the RO units to the existing system. This consisted of:

  • Piping inside the plant: RVS316L for raw water and permeate.
  • Piping outside the plant: HDPE for concentrate and wastewater.

Scope:

  1. Feed water pump connection - Installation of a new DN300 pump (300m³/h) including foundation, valves, and compensators.
  2. Piping to RO units - stainless steel316 DN300 with shut-off valves, metal pipe rack and insulated flexible connections.
  3. Connection permeate tank - stainless steel DN300 piping and epoxy-coated foundation.
  4. Transport to mixing bed collector - stainless steel316 DN150-DN300 piping.
  5. Concentrate disposal - HDPE piping, insulation and new 10 m³ wastewater tank.
  6. Wastewater disposal - Installation of a new wastewater pump and HDPE DN150 pressure piping to the metering station.
