The customer

KWS Oudenburg is a Belgian football club from Oudenburg.

Purpose

At the football club, we carried out a thorough insulation project on the existing air ducts of the canteen and changing rooms.

The old insulation had deteriorated due to wear and tear as well as damage from birds and pests, resulting in greatly increased energy consumption, poor ventilation and large heat losses.

Problem-solution

After a thorough analysis of the situation on site, our team calculated the optimal insulation thickness. We came up with a solution that would not only improve energy efficiency, but also significantly extend the service life of the installation.

How we approached it:

  1. Removal of the damaged insulation and complete cleaning of the ducts.
  2. Installating additional bracing to reinforce the structure against strong winds and weather conditions.
  3. Re-insulation of all ducts (40 m²) with 50 mm mineral wool (λ = 0.040 W/mK), finished with 1 mm aluminum sheeting, fully customized.

After three weeks of intensive work by our Straf Volk team, we had an energy-efficient, sustainable and neatly finished ventilation system with a payback period of only about 2 years.
