Aquafin is responsible for the infrastructure and treatment of Flemish domestic wastewater.
Purpose
The renewal of a leaking dosing system.
Problem-solution
Problem
The dosing plant for dewatering in the Ostend sewage treatment plant's sludge treatment plant had leaks. Not illogical, as the installation was made of stainless steel which corroded the pipes.
Solution
- CGK Group broke down the installation and replaced it with HDPE. But the existing measuring devices, pumps and valves were recovered to the maximum extent to avoid unnecessary costs.
- Because the plant runs continuously, it was not allowed to be shut down. Which posed no problem, since it consists of 2 identical autonomous systems. CGK Group first converted one system and after the conversion the other.
