Problem
According to the VLAREM standard, there are potentially enough hazardous substances in Schenker's storage zone (i.e. environmentally critical, flammable, corrosive and environmentally hazardous substances). The need for fixed containment of the zone became increasingly pressing. Current systems for such encasement created additional problems: the disruption of internal transport and a reduction in storage capacity.
Solution
CGK Group installed an epoxy floor with 20 cm fixed curb and 10 fully automatic pneumatic containment barriers. 1 containment barrier per entrance, each between the racks. Despite the full containment, all aisles between the racks remained accessible.
Each containment barrier closes its corridor in the event of a problem, thanks to leak detection. At night, during unmanned hours, the barriers close at the touch of a button.
