Waste water storage (Medgenix)
The customer
Medgenix located in Wevelgem is a member of the Omega Pharma group. It makes pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, from pharmaceuticals to shampoos.
Purpose
Wastewater buffering to comply with Aquafin regulations.
Problem-solution
- Wastewater discharge is sometimes allowed at a limited flow rate. Or not even during heavy rainfall: storage is therefore necessary. Medgenix asked CGK Group to build 2 single-walled wastewater buffers. Good for 75,000 litres each, but with limited height due to the nearby airport. The tanks also have overfill protection and ultrasonic metering.
- CGK Group provided a flow meter on the outlet that monitors the discharge. We installed multiple wastewater pumps: to pump from the buffers and to keep the mixtures even. All pumps even have a double, for 100% operational reliability.
- We provide a turnkey solution. Piping in HDPE-100 with pneumatic valves, electrical cabling and extensive automation with the Siemens S7-PLC. Including colour screen and frequency control to the pumps.
- The smart preparation saved a lot of time on the road and on site. The stainless steel pump installation with (automatic) valves was pre-assembled, while the tank transport took place at night.
