Storage of contaminated biological waste (Biotalys)
The customer
Biotalys is an agricultural technology (AgTech) company that protects crops and food with proprietary protein-based biological pesticides, aiming for a more sustainable and safe food supply.
Purpose
The client wanted a (cost-)efficient solution for the storage of contaminated biological waste. The installation obviously had to comply with VLAREM requirements (Art. 5.2.3.11).
Problem-solution
The law requires such biological waste to be stored in an enclosed, covered and cool storage area. It must also remain inaccessible to unauthorized individuals.
After getting to know the company, their requirements and the available infrastructure, we came up with a proposal to install an insulated storage container on an available space next to the company building.
- The container is insulated and fitted with an insulated lockable sliding door.
- The floors and walls are designed to be liquid-tight, ensuring that the container provides a secure liquid-tight containment.
- The containment was given a fibreglass coating to protect against aggressive products.
- Forced ventilation was provided.
- LED lighting has been installed in the container.
CGK arranged the transport and delivered the container to the customer on site.
