Eye and body showers (laboratory)
The customer
Brussels lab doing quality testing for pharmaceuticals.
Purpose
Protect employees from hazardous materials by installing emergency showers.
Problem-solution
The lab often works with hazardous substances. A risk analysis showed that prevention measures, such as personal protection, were no longer sufficient. Because there were not only eye risks, they wanted body showers.
Problem
The body showers spread water through the lab, even during weekly tests, and also posed a risk of falling.
Solution
CGK Group therefore proposed a shower cubicle with limited height: 3 sidewalls that seamlessly connect to a collection tray with grid. Water puddles and slips are thus skillfully avoided.
The work stations received squeeze showers where the double heads remained open after activation. The eye and body showers were equipped with their own boilers, for instant hot water (as 15 minutes of showering at 10-15°C is not obvious).
