Industrial agitators for tanks
Industrial agitators for tanks
We select the mixer for the tank based on the tank volume, the liquid, viscosity, desired mixing action, and process conditions. Where possible, we opt for a standard solution, supplemented with custom engineering when the application requires it.
What are industrial agitators used for?
Industrial agitators for tanks can be used for:
- homogenously mixing liquids
- keeping solid particles in suspension
- dissolving powders in liquids
- preventing settling and separation
- improving heat transfer
- Dilute chemicals
- pH correction and neutralization
- coagulation and flocculation
- Keep sludge and slurry in motion
- Preparing liquids for pumping or dosing
Industrial agitators for various tank applications
Depending on the tank volume, the liquid properties, and the desired mixing result, various configurations are possible. CGK supplies industrial agitators for both compact process tanks and large industrial storage tanks, slurry applications, and fully customized solutions.
Agitators for tanks up to 180 m³
These agitators are suitable for a wide range of industrial mixing processes, including wastewater treatment. Possible materials include steel, stainless steel, and chemically resistant linings such as PP, ECTFE, or ebonite. Depending on the application, shaft lengths up to 3,500 mm and impeller diameters up to 1,500 mm are possible.
Agitators for large tanks up to 1,500 m³
Large tank volumes require powerful industrial agitators that create sufficient circulation throughout the entire tank. These mixers are used, among other things, in water treatment, chemical processes, and large storage or buffer tanks. Available configurations include shaft lengths up to 6 meters, impeller diameters up to 4 meters, and motor powers up to 45 kW.
Agitators for slurry, sludge, and solids
Liquids with a high solids content require a customized agitator configuration. The drive, shaft, and impeller are tailored to the product’s density, viscosity, concentration, and settling rate .
These industrial mixers are used, among other things, for sludge, slurry, mineral suspensions, and other heavy-duty applications in industries such as water treatment, cement, ceramics, and mining.
The goal is to keep solids evenly distributed and minimize unwanted settling.

Certification and technical documentation
We provide a technical data sheet for every CE-certified agitator . If we manufacture the tank, this is also included in the 3D model. An ATEX-certified agitator can also be provided where necessary.
The Right Impeller for Your Mixing Process
The impeller is the heart of the agitator and largely determines the mixing result. CGK offers various impeller types for a wide range of industrial mixing applications:
- Flocculation impeller
- Industrial impeller
- Flash impeller
- Impeller with high hydrodynamic profile
- Impeller for nitrification and denitrification in wastewater treatment
- Tilted blade impeller
- Spiral impeller
- High-shear impeller
- Impeller for high-viscosity liquids
- Agitation impeller
